Launching Detective Hawk Games' visual identity required a deep understanding of the brand's playful spirit and their target audience.
Their vision was clear: to have a film noir private investigator styled hawk as their mascot, personifying their unique persona - serious, yet inviting.
Incorporating this ethos, we embarked on the mission of creating an illustration in a clean professional style that would connect with their audience. The challenge was to maintain a careful balance between fun and professionalism, ensuring that Detective Hawk’s persona was well-represented.
To solve this, I meticulously designed a cute yet serious mascot, encapsulating the brand's vision perfectly. The logo was developed using an illustrative and clean cartoon style, harmonizing the business name with the character. This detailed process involved a deliberate choice of colors, ensuring that the logo was versatile enough to appear in solid white or black too, aiding in the brand’s recognition across various mediums.
Target Audience and Colorful Brand Identity
Our design journey was always guided by Detective Hawk Games' target audience - the niche community of Euro-style board game lovers. Recognizing their love for vivid, imaginative themes present in their favorite games, we sought inspiration from the same.
We embraced this inspiration with the brand's inherent fun and playful vibe, resulting in a vibrant, color-infused brand identity. The brand’s mascot and visual identity were thus strategically designed to appeal to this target audience, resonating with their passion for board games while reflecting the brand’s essence.
